The scanner room suffers from a rather serious bug that causes significant problems when scanning for a specific resource.
The Scanner Room UI is limited to 10 items. When there are more than 10 types of item within range any additional items fall off the end of the list and are not select-able. The scanner UI needs to be paginated with a up and down arrow button to switch pages when clicked

    Confirm.
We need buttons to scroll the list!

Another option would be to increase the size of the screen, add a second screen or make the list automatically scroll, although i think auto scrolling buttons might be hard to program

in steam forum some guy posted this solution: scanner room will update list with LAST PICKED item. So if you are looking for copper, just find one pick it up (maybe you can just drop a copper from inv and pick it up) - > scanner shows copper in the list.
    Hope this helps!
of course a scroll down list would be appreciated, but as there are more pressing changes at hand it would do the job until button-day

Interesting suggestion. I'll have to try it out. Thanks for posting it!

Unfortunately, most of the copper is in limestone deposits--which you cannot drop. (Or, sandstone.)
