I wonder if the OP realizes that banning IP ranges really does nothing but cause problems down the line when black listed IP's are recycled into the address pool. No spammer would use a static IP
A lot of the bots were/are coming from a very limited range of addresses. I'd rather prevent several dozen new registrations now than let them fill the forum with spam because we might potentially block someone sometime in the future (in which case they could just email and ask for an account).
Saw the Starship Troopers RifftraxLIVE event on its first outing...which ended up being seriously awkward. Especially since one of their jokes was about Jake Busey as Ace.
Mike: Nice smile...
Kevin: ...for a Clydesdale.
And who do I end up running into and talking with the very next morning? Damn but that was a little weird.

Why was that awkward for them to joke about?
Because I ended up talking face-to-face with the guy the next morning.
I shudder to think how many folks are wandering around with bogus University degrees, assuming that this scam is 'legit'...
Well, as legit as an apparently State-sanctioned scam can be, at any rate.
Send them an email saying their account may be compromised and is being used for spam
Tell them to proceed to a link to unlock their account
Link takes them to a site where the memz virus is downloaded onto the computer
Computer gets bricked and they now know not to mess with this community
5. UWE gets sued
6. UWE loses due to obviously illegal attack
7. Spammer demands millions
8. UWE goes bankrupt
9. We lose Subnautica
10. The apocalypse happens because there's no Subnautica

It's not OP's first day.
The 'burn' is strong in this one.
4. Finch gets 'em.
5. Problem solved.

Just get kouji and his tank. That'll work too.
I dunno, seems like a valid idea to me
Armoured Croc requesting a target!
