Rock Puncher

Hello,

So i don't know if there is one of this type of fauna, but since it won't likely being added in the game, i would like to give an idea what may or may not be an function for the Rock Puncher later on. So i know that the purpose was that the Rock Puncher was able to terraform the land, but since terraforming isn't an option anymore, i would like to give you (The developers.) this idea and hopefully add it into the game or before V1.0 or after. But i got an idea recently about those large ore deposits, that they are only breakable with the Exosuit when you have an DrillArm upgrade. But what if the Rock Puncher could be able to punch/break those large ore deposits? Then ofcourse it would mean that those large ore deposits are (If added) easier to break, or if the Rock Puncher will spawn in certain biomes. (I have no idea what biomes it would have been planned if being added to the game.)

I don't know if this has allready been an plan for the Rock Puncher or not. But i think it would serve like a good option.

Also sorry if my grammar isn't the best.

Thanks for replying,

Mark

    Welcome to the forums!

Sadly, others have beaten you to the punch on this idea.

Regardless of that fact, it is a good idea, giving a better "environmental" use to the ore deposits. If the Rock Puncher is ever developed, it will certainly follow this idea.

I didn't actually see that until after I posted. I was really hoping someone would get it.

Then, how come we can still terraform in creative mode?

Terraforming will not be taken out permanently.
It is just than the current engine, unity, is incapable of supporting terraforming.
@WaviestBow6 in creative, there are less systems checks running.

when the engine changes, terraforming will be put in, with the rock puncher

@DaMantis_Leviathan Why do you think they are going to change the engine? They might as well add multiplayer too (OWA). The reason they removed it from survival was because it messed up saves. If you'd read the wiki it says:

"The Terraformer was removed due to issues with save file sizes.[1] The Terraformer model may later be used for an unknown purpose in later updates, as the developers thought the model was "too cool"."

It has nothing to do with creative having "less checks", you can still be in survival and use the item command with it (at least in release build).

It's the implementation that makes this way, not necessarily unity.
