A change of the story of the game

Hi everyone I'd like to make a suggestion to game developers, I hope to have their opinion

I would like to change the cause of the Aurora incident and the reason for staying on the planet because it's too violent.

The Aurora incident could be an internal sabotage, and the reason for staying on the planet it could be only the disease, If we're siencist, we don't want to spread a letal disease to the humanity is just logic

Hmm dunno about this, the being shot down is just a defensive measure or rather quarantine system. The mass death of the other humans is rather suspicious. I'd love to however see a hidden/secured room inside the Aurora, which you can cut into, that has information about why this mission was planned. You know, something like we knew about this stuff and the disease/bacteria (Carrar/Kharaa) being here. Kinda like the Aliens movieseries Weyland company. Doing some undercover "off the books" black ops, behind the scenes of this so called main mission of just building an arbitrary phasegate in the system

Isn't that already the lore? The way I read it, the Aurora was on its way to build a phasegate and 4546B was essentially a waypoint in the voyage; the gate wasn't slated for construction in this system, it was just put on the charted course so that the Aurora could scope 4546B for the Degasi.

    Did I miss something?

The fact that I tend to steer clear of the story as an anti-spoiler thing, I know hearsay about stuff and things :D

Just thought it would be a cool idea, which is apparently the thing they're going for, hmm? Well done UWE o/

But imma not gonna hijack @CharaXP's thread here. Just adding to it a bit...

I guess I just don't see the distinction.

    1. Automated alien defense system shoots the Aurora, ship crashes, crew largely wiped out, player stranded.
    2. Treacherous crewmember sabotages the Aurora, ship crashes, crew largely wiped out, player stranded.

Either way, most of the crew is dead. I fail to see how someone sabotaging the ship and causing it to crash is somehow less violent than a robotic alien gun shooting the ship down. If anything, sabotage would be more violent, as it was a conscious, deliberate act rather than a programmed response on a computer.

    1) that isn't the same thing,They also don't want weapons or at least they don't want to let us use weapons, but the game is based on disabling a weapon that doesn't allow us to leave the planet

True, but that weapons isn't ours. It's alien and we all know aliens are out to get us. ie: even the so called peaceful Vulcans that saw us go Warpspeed for the first time just came over to basically put a leesh on us :D (or rather a T'pol and later a Spock as a backseat driver)

Until we got better enterprises and stuff to tell them go sod off, so to speak!

And now, here we have a big gun, shooting our Aurora just because we got too close without any warning to tell us to go away or else. Decending onto this pretty waterworld isn't going to be pretty in itself in any way, shape or form. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, sometimes it's all plasmabolts and explosions

They transmit a warning, we just don't understand it and / or it's not on frequencies we use (probably the former as our PDA can slowly learn how to translate it. Probably by the time translation begins to understand the gibberish, the gun has already activated. The Precursors may not have forseen this, as back then, they were probably one of if not the only dominant exploratory race, and anyone with FTL would have built in translation for their language, or at least understand enough to back off when told to scram. Sort of like English today.)
