New players think PDAs are light sources -- maybe pulse a bright green LED and/or a pinging sound?

I'm thinking tone down the white glow and give a pulsing green power indicator LED.. or something to make it seem more like what you would expect from, say, a cell phone sitting in standby mode. Currently, a whole lot of new players think they're static lights, or don't see them at all if they have their flashlight / SeaGlide / Seamoth lights pointed at where the PDA is. Alternatively or additionally, make the PdAs give off a pinging noise in time with the flashing green LED?

I have to admit, I did ignore then for a while, I believed they were just decoration.

It is so easy to miss.
Adding a ping sound and led would help to locate the PDA, no more leaving without it !

Should be a very quiet, ping, though, I think. Not one of those sounds you can hear a hundred meters away.

Very quiet ping is need for the first aid kit fabricator. Or just the option to turn it off.
