    I dont know but these forums have to be costing some big money, for bandwith. I figured someone got the bill and said Oh S**T. Shut it down. Why pay for people to post endlessy on same subjects? Though, wait jeez this is a useless post....argghhh..I must stop now.

    From what I could see it seems like the database server was down or not responding (most likely mysqld or similar).

    This forum is popular, but there are forums that are much more popular. It just seems the db server that hosts the db for these forums likes to die all the time.

    Anyway, bigger forums:

    <a href='http://www.hardforums.com' target='_blank'>HardOCP Forums</a>
    <a href='http://forums.anandtech.com' target='_blank'>Anandtech Forums</a>
    ....
    And many many others.

    To the forum admins: There's this new thing, called a cluster <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The error I saw had to do with a missing or corrupt table file, not an overloaded server.
