When the game forces you to "cheat"

I started a new survival mode to check out the update and ran through all the menial stuff as quickly as I could to get my beloved exosuit. As usual, I found the wrecks with the useless "1 of 20" suit fragments that never add up to anything. But it's what I found in the PRAWN bay on the Aurora that really amused me;

Of course, I did F8 on that.

I scanned one of the fragments and saved the game before ghosting through the invisible floor. I was able to scan another fragment while swimming under the floor. I saved again because I have to save every time I do something since my game crashes so often. I had three fragments scanned in and saved by the time I crashed. Got back into the game, all the fragments I had scanned were gone, as you'd expect. I couldn't scan the one hanging fragment even when standing directly under it. Went through the living quarters filling my inventory with goodies and went back to base without checking my blueprints again. This was my reward for all that trouble;

So, yeah, I unlocked the blueprint via the console.

    What build number did you start this saved game on?

    Because this is probably just a problem with outdated terrain not loading in correctly. So technically, in the games eyes, you never actually went into the Aurora or scanned those fragments.

    Of course, I could be completely wrong.

    There's a problem that certain terrain, props, etc don't load in and the devs don't know exactly how to fix that (from what i see on trello) for the blueprints not saving it's a known issue from voice of the deep update so the devs will fix it soon

    It was a new game just started last night. But there's still the possibility of corruption from some file somewhere. My wife didn't have any issue on her save though. I've deleted the old game folder and reinstalled completely.
