Looks like it's treated like a fragment where when you already know it you get a two titanium consolation prize. Could either be made non-scannable or (lazy hack) the recipe changed to require two titanium.

This may be one of the very few--if not the only--items in the game that you can craft yourself and then scan. Turning glass into titanium isn't exactly a good trade. So, I'm not gonna say this is a high priority fix. Cool find though.
