When placed on top of your base, solar panels are worth 250 power instead of the 125.
However, when you go to check them visually, the panel reports only 125.

(Picture set to 'hidden'; if you are unable to view it because of that, let me know and I'll set it public)

Edit: Looks like they made a change to Solar Panels halving their power storage.
Also note, if it helps: when the power is "doubled", items take 2x the amount of energy (IIRC). So, fabricating something costs 5 power, well, if your panels are on the base instead of the ground, they cost 10 power instead. -- Not sure how that plays with mixed generator types, would have to check. Also this might be outdated info, but last I knew, it wasn't.
As far as image hosting, I prefer TinyPic, seems a bit lighter than other services (faster page loads; do note, however, that I use the uBlock Origin extension for adblocking, which might affect that).
Fixed in 55376.
As @0x6A7232 mentioned, there never really was any bonus power, it was basically a display bug. The power would appear doubled but the amount of power you used would appear doubled, too. So you have the same amount of real power in 55376 as you had before it, it just might look like a different total.
