Ok, One day, I was taking my seamoth to my lifepod, which has floated out past the dunes, into the void. (I was looking for my mobile vehicle bay). After not finding it, and nearly getting eaten by a ghost, I ran back through the dunes. I saw what at first i thought was a school of hoopfish, but as I got closer, I noticed it was the blue spots on a sea emeperor's tentacle! Pictures:

Yep, I saw that guy out in the Dunes last week. Seems those juveniles grew up real quick.

They're friendly, too, and while I didn't test this very much, I think Reapers avoid them.
