Mod Locks Up Halfway Through Install.

Hey guys, im posting this for a friend, i dont know anything about his system config except for the fact that he is running an XP platform, and has just recently purchased halflife with all the extra mods, cs, blueshift, and all of those packaged into the game. I wouldnt think this to make a difference.
Apparently when he installs, it gets to "ns/music/ns_titlescreen.mp3" on the installer, then locks up and has to be closed.
Do any of you have any suggestions? Its possible he may have a corrupt install, but it would be hard to say. Are there any small programs that you know of that can be used to check the checksum or crc32's of the ns_install_v1.exe
I could try sending it to him again, but at 2.5k a second, it takes nearly 10 hours, and he is barely online for 5 hours on a normal day. Then if that didnt work, we would have wasted another two days of file transfers..
