The purpose of this simple game mode would be to give players something to do (other than sandbox mode) while they wait for the server to populate.
The marines face off against unending waves of babblers that run from the hive to the marine start. The marines are 3/3 and have access to all of their equipment. When a babbler dies it respawns at the hive and is twice as large, has twice as much health, and does twice as much damage. Eventually you have massive babbler-saurs running around the map nibbling at scared marines. When a massive babbler-saur dies, it respawns as a standard babbler.

Also their sounds should go lower in pitch by 10% up to a certain point, for each respawn for added horror effect!
About the playable babbler, the code itself is not that hard to do even as a shine plugin, but what's around would be hard to do (point is it would require more workaround work than the playable babbler code itself)
* How are they visible on the scoreboard ? (so you don't get a team of, lets say, 12 vs 24 players with new people being confused as wtf is going on)
* What happen if they talk ? Other team or alien team ?
* How, how fast, and where do they respawn ?
* Are they displayed on the minimap ?
* Do playable babbler use a playable slot or a spec slot ? (if they take a spec slot then there is a bunch of stuff to 'fake' a spectator into being an actual player which would be a lot of workaround code only for the main feature to work).
