It is not just a visual glitch, they do have a hitbox, and they can block your way:

Please fix this, meanwhile, is there any way to disable shoal of fishes? The console command does nothing!

I have noticed stuff like this as well. Stuff like fish getting inside my base. although I don't think I have been blocked by the fish
