Native Steam Controller Support via the SCAPI

Would it be feasible to have native support added for the Steam Controller? Not only making full use of the SCAPI, but with proper button prompt glyphs and support for mouse-like trackpad in combination with a controller layout, etc. How much extra work is typically involved in that?

Just bumping this to extend my suggestion to the upcoming Below Zero expansion. This sort of game is so perfect for the Steam Controller, proper support would be fantastic for those of us who use it ?

Since my first post, I believe the API is now called simply "Steam Input API/SIAPI", because it now covers any controller and not just the Steam Controller:
