A pickle indeed!
Anyone had a problem with worldcraft/hammer (either one) just completely freezing when using them... for a while now I have put up with it by saving regularly (every couple of minutes) but now if I make a single brush or entity, the whole computer freezes and then I get the NT blue screen of death stating a problem detected in nv4 blah blah blah.... anyone had this or have it and gotten over it? PLEASE HELP ME OBI-WON KENOBI...you're my only hope!

Actually, I rarely ever have a problem with WC/VHE freezing up, etc... Used to, but I think it was cleared up for me in 3.3...
Ooh! I did get it to crash last night though! It just so happens that if you can manage to press "Ctrl-Z" approx 15 times per second for long enough... it will silently crash to the desktop without any errors. Serious.
(Don't... ask...)

I got no other problems with opengl enabled apps - ala 3dsmax, animatek world builder and combustion2... nor do I have an game problems.... that's why it's so annoying... I've got latest drivers installed, via 4-in-1's, latest mb bios.... short of hitting my computer with a hammer, I don't know what else to do
I've tried multiple driver versions....
/me cries alone without the ability to map
It is not your card, computer, etc. It is the program and it can be fixed (or so it seems).
I deleted and reistalled the program to get rid of any bad files. I then deleted ALL registry entries that tie to VHE. This should take out any incompatibility between VHE and Windows. Also, set the program to run in a higher resource mode. The program eats up video power like mad, so I figured assigning more power to it could help.
Anyway, I tried all this and the program ran for about 2 straight hours, which is the best I've yet seen. I hope this helps.
aaaah, i see how to fix the problem.
/me goes out and spends $2500 on a new computer
all better now . .
