Which stupid changes?
I've found the 1.0.3 (after an initial adaption period) to be stable and balanced.
If you'd detail what changes you don't like and a solid reasoned arguement as to why, then it might be considered.
Just casting disparagement will be unlikely to get you a fair hearing.
And yes, Flay reads the forums... probably more than he should, since people put threads in any old forum instead of the *relevant* ones making it necessary to trawl through the entire board in order to keep up to date.
Maybe the mods should start taking a more pro-active role in moving irrelevant threads into the right forums and educating people in the proper places to report/post their issues?

Heres a little story which should prompt either a marine death timer or removal of the alien one:
It's the end, the aliens have their third hive, they had thrown them all up pretty promptly and the marines have been losing from the outset. The onos begin to rush in and we do our best to fight them back. The first wave is stemmed and I scream at the commander for a jetpack, welder and LMG.
Taking a last, brave initiative I fly through the clear vents to the first alien hive and sit atop it, firing with the welder. The first hive goes down, not an alien in sight, my team mates are still getting creamed at base.
I fly to the second hive, sit on top again and begin to weld again. The second hive goes down, still no aliens, I am almost dead from skipping past offence chambers though.
Third hive, off I trot, my entire team are dead by now and the aliens have destroyed all of the base. I begin to weld the last hive, fighting off the odd skulk with my LMG, it's dead.
Beep, beep, beep, beep, marines win.
It wasn't difficult, the first 2 hives went down without a peep from the aliens and the last was almost unreachable by skulks.
If the aliens get a no-hive anti-lamer death, then the marines should get a no-hive anti-lamer/rambo last stand death. If you're playing the alien team the last thing you want is to lose a game you deserve to win to one or more skilled marines with jetpacks and welders.
This isn't the only reason, a jetpack or even normal marine is just as capable of hiding as an alien. Well maybe less so but I have seen it happen.
Why should the marines get a last chance whilst the aliens die before they can even throw up a hive?
As for not being able to change teams, it's hopelessly pointless and I can't honestly see why the devs bothered. Anyone with one braincell to call their own can manage to type 'retry' at the console and switch teams anyway. I have seen that happen in MANY matches.
The only thing I have a REAL problem with in 1.03 is the buggy consistency checking which has prevented me playing on most of the 1.03 servers. Don't bother suggesting a fix, I have tried them ALL and then some.
I'm sure everyone would, even though there might not be any work being done at the moment, want to see a list of the currently considered changes so they could argue over them and give feedback. Particularly with things like the alien resource cheat (Evolve to gorge and make everyone in your team, but you, leave to boost your resources for building an instant hive. This can cripple your team if you don't quickly get some resource towers or are greedy and try to get all hives) which need to and probably will be changed. To put our minds at ease so to speak.
And what's the sense on dying aliens?
Does your dog die if it doesn't have a big mass of some crappy meat called "hive" near him? :]

Oh yeah, I thought with the exception of team switching and the intro of a death thing ONLY for aliens, 1.03 was a fantastic patch.
One thing I'd like to see is a restriction of making NS servers only as high as 16. Marines practically always win at 18 or higher. This is, in my mind, the biggest "fixable" balance issue. Of course, I understand that'll never happen as many people like huge games. Marines lose a lot because of bad commanders, but I don't see how that can be fixed really.
