    TRON, the greatest disney movie ever made... its what happens when cracked-out animators (arent they all?) play too many 80s video games and decide to make a live-action film.

    ok, maybe that's not an accurate description, but its a damned good movie.

    I would <i>highly</i> recommend "The Green Mile". Very dramatic, etc... Although it has absolutely nothing to do with sci-fi or anything, it's very moving. Only seen it two times, but it's definitely worth the money.

    It's good in the way Saving Private Ryan is good.

    Though I'm not so sure why I posted this... It has absolutely no comedy or action in it... But hey, you just might like it.

    Everything by Stanley Kubrick is incredible.  Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Oddesy, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, Eyes Wide Shut, Barry Lyndon, Lolita, and to a lesser extent AI.

    And also look for Pitch Black.  Its a great sci-fi horror film, if you want something more recent than the Aliens series.

    And if you don't mind tripped out drug movies, Requiem For a Dream is the greatest movie ever made.

    I have to second Ken20banks' recommendation of "The Green Mile".  It's not the type of movie that you'd want to see every day, but when I saw it I was left absolutely speechless at the end.  Again, little action and comedy, but a marvelous piece of story-telling.  It's a lot like "The Shawshank Redemption" (another one of my favorites) in that way.

    As for comedy, nothing beats "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "Spaceballs".

    I would say Training Day, Zoolander, Evil Dead (1 and 2), Army of Darkness, Office Space, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Mallrats, Halloween, Starship Troopers, Blade (1 and 2), 13 Ghosts (cheesy horror), Jacobs Ladder, Breaker Morant, Savin Private Ryan, Gallipoli (sp?) and most definatly the Indiana Jones Series.

    like infamous said, the jay and silent bob stuff and indiana jones. also clear and present danger (is dat a dvd yet?) and the episode one dvd. it rox! oh and that evolutions movie, i kno the brother of one of the stars in that movie.
