    does anyone like the idea... dislike the idea or what?     That is interesting. The shape of it is near perfect for the Comm HUD in NS. With some modification, it can look downright spiffy. I'd really like it if someone did this.

    Oh, yes, I wanted to mention that there is a couple custom Comm HUD's in the sticky thread above, "Calling All Sprites Artists".

    And the pictures come and go. If you don't see them, right-clicking to "Show Picture" won't help. Come back in a couple minutes.

    fuzzy commander view=bad and unless you replace everything on the bottom you can't fit all the info in, so even if you were to skin it you would end up making something about 90% original :-p

    I think you could take out the shoulder mounted camera feed and replace that part of the hud with the commander view. Then you could make the rest in that spartan " '80s sci-fi movie computer display" style.     Which means that the server temporarily removes access to those two files occasionally, so right-clicking on them to say "Show Picture will not make them show up. I imagine it's for bandwidth-conservation issues.

    The only way to see the images is to come back in a few minutes and try again.

    Yup, they still didn't work for me, so I fired up getright to see what the error was about.. Was along the lines of 'user has exceeded his daily bandwidth allotment' heh

    I wasnt saying make it blurry I was mearly saying I like the style of the comm hud in aliens and I wouldnt mind if someone did one in aliens style, not that I wouldnt love a feature allows you to look in a players view in a small screen in the corner or something

    You can't make a HUD that wraps the screen like that, unless the NS team recodes how the sprites are displayed. You can only have HUD on the top and bottom of the screen. The commander HUD is a lot of work as it consists of some large sprite files so you won't find a lot of people doing them. I probably spent a good 3-4 hours on just the red scrolly part of mine. I may try making one similar to that if I get in the mood.     ...He's not asking for the static image effect. Look at the stuff -AROUND- the static. The little graphics. He's talking about graphics. Not the static. The static is inconsequential.
