A nominally semi-noob question
Greetings, fellow NS addicts. A friend of mine enjoys a little-known Half-Life modification called Counter-Strike. As I was observing his play, I glanced in the corner of his screen and lo-and behold, there resided a small graphic that displayed his current FPS. Also, there were blue, green, and red lines corresponding to his ping and network latency. Hence, my question is this: Is there not some almighty way in which this same information might be relegated to my screen as well, only in the far superior game known to some as Natural Selection? Any hints, suggestions, tips, or advice would be gladly appreciated. I feverishly, frantically, frenetically, and fiendishly await your response! Peace.

1 and 2 offers 2 different views on your connection.
you can show the fps in other ways like using cl_showfps 1 in the console.
-numericping
I suggest you to use net_graph 3
