<div class="IPBDescription">omg so lame</div> This needs immediate attention. I know it has been posted before, but the more attention the better. We do not need another Cheater Strike! One of my clanmates has recently seen a script kiddie abusing this bug.

and aim low, towards the groin. The hitboxes are getting very low on marines when crounching.

God, now crouching is a cheat to you.. is there anything you don't whine about?
_j_: There is currently a bug where crouching marines are nearly invulnerable. This is a well known bug. What also promted me was becoming aware of the fact that people are exploiting this bug by writing scripts that allow them to remain ducking and jump and move thereby basically avoiding skulks. If you do not think exploiting bugs is worthy of a post, well do not read anymore of my posts.

I have noticed that when I crouch sometimes OTs have problems hitting me. They go right over my head.

This is probably the same issue.
Also, if you see once lower than you down a flight a stairs (i.e. Eclipse - South Loop) many times it will fire into the stairs only.

Anyway, yea, here's a bug: Cannot damage marines on ladders when you're a skulk climbing up ladder underneath him. AKA when you try to chomp at his legs he takes no damage.

Yes, it is known that they take no damage when you climb up the ladder under them and bite their feet.
I usually try to find a different route to approach the marine if it is a single ladder. If it?s a double ladder like outside Sewer and in Maintenance hive, i just climb beside them up the wall or the other ladder and chomp their faces.

Hmm, this brings up the question? Does the arms lab now contain upgrades to boot armor? Triple armor plated bewts?

Hitting marines while crouched seems to work fine.
When you attack marines while they are on ladders/narrow vents it seems as if you do less damage than normal (I can kill them sometimes, but it takes a ton of biting). I've experienced it first hand so many times that I know biting marines on ladders/narrow vents does not work as it's supposed to.
You can provide all the hit box model screen shots that you want, it doesn't work.
As for the ladders, off the top of my head that sounds like a hull issue.
The Marine clipping box is (possibly) too large on the bottom, so you get stuck "under" it and unable to bite far enough "into" it to cause damage.
However, I can't see clipping boxes (to my knowledge) in HLMV so I can't tell you.

btw: viewing hitboxes in HLMV doesn't say anything. Think of CS, or any other mod for that matter... the hitboxes are all fine in HLMV, but not ingame. It's an issue with packets going to the servers getting corrupted or something, not totally sure. But there is a way to fix it by disabling "hitbox blending" or something.
It's due to an error with the actual model file itself not having the correct 'legs' attached to the model when it's crouched and wielding a weapon, or other such fun-ness.
Or more specifically, most of the time HL is smart enough to use the right hitboxes on the right bones for the right section of the model, but I believe in this case it's a matter of the wrong 'bones' for part of the model being used. This is also the source of the 'crouched but full height' error with ReadyRoom marines looking like an Onos, half-way into the floor.
A possible fix is to link the correct 'crouching' legs to all of the 'crouching' animations, even if they [U]shouldn't/[U] make a difference. The actual work to do this should be relatively trivial, but would require a client-side fix since it's a client-side model in error as well in this case.
(Imagine if they did...just quietly edit all the Alien models to have no hitboxes when you played with Aliens...)
Ive bitten 4 marines that were cramped up trying to go down a ladder
i was attacking/rushing them from below....
it was the ladder in tanish that leads to reactor room (2 res room) from waste handling side
it was about 2 bites per marine, so not many, if any, of my bites were missing..
just seems weird...

Actually looking for hitboxes in a model viewer does not work for halflife mods. I don't know what kind of hitboxes they show but it is definitively not the hitboxes which are used in game. I had the same problems with firearms in one earlier release. There the hitbox for the head was around the shoulder region when going prone, the whole head had no hitbox at all. But in model viewer all seemed to be on the right place.
