<div class="IPBDescription">for game making compitition</div> There is a competition being run by an Australian Game Developer (Auran) called <b>Next Years Game</b>, I could go into heaps of detail but I have a link <a href='http://www.nextyearsgame.com/' target='_blank'>here, which will explain it better than I can</a>. But for the lazy one's I will give a brief summery:

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->The aim of the competition is simple - create the most visually stunning, technically adept, fun and innovative game, game demo or game prototype by the competition's close.

The type of game, the style, story, characters and every other aspect of the game are completely up to you and your team. Auran and the sponsors want you to take the game of your dreams, turn it into a reality and win awesome prizes!

Think it is impossible? No, it is very possible - Auran will even give you a game engine to help you get there!
<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

BTW details on the engine in question can be found <a href='http://www.auran.com/jet' target='_blank'>here.</a>

There are already 3 of us on the team: Me (Game Design), Merl (Lead Programmer) and Scythe (Programming)
As you can see this team is lacking in a few vital areas, namely Modelling, Animation, 2D art (textures, concept drawings) and Audio

The game that we have decided to make is an action RPG, based in the Bloodlines universe
(For those who have no idea what the bloodlines universe is like, I suggest you read <a href='http://moore.lorikeet.id.au/mouse/BloodlinesPtI.doc' target='_blank'>Part 1</a> and <a href='http://moore.lorikeet.id.au/mouse/BloodlinesPtII.doc' target='_blank'>Part 2</a> of 'The Journey' (written by yours truly <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

<b>POSITIONS AVAILABLE</b>

Modeller (need to have MAX or Maya)
Animator (need to have MAX or Maya)
2D Artist
Programmer

We have two criteria for people who wish to join the team

1. Post a couple of examples of your work (where applicable)
2. Tell us where you live (All current team members live on the eastern coast of Australia so it is prefered that you live in a similar timezone)

[EDIT] we are planning to have the combat in the game similar to the combat in the stories. Read chapter 2 of part 2 to get an idea of what we're aiming for

    Welcome our newest member Comprox, who will now be doing the GUI instead of me (woo, less work for me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    Well, I was already on a team doing this, but it fell through. I can model, although I'm not the super-special modelerific modeller.

    can you post some examples of your work?

    oh and if your not too good at doing living things, you could always do some weapon modelling

    That reminds me, we need someone to do some concept art for us. It will mainly be creatures (maybe some location and weapon concepts too), but you will basically have free reign over what the creatures look like

    Well actually I'm better at organic modelling. Right now, I have an infinitesimal amount of work viewable. Last summer I took a class in Maya, and they posted some of my stuff on the web. Granted, it was the first time I had ever heard of 3d modelling in my life, but if you want the link, PM me or something.

    Do you have the forms each member has to fill out?

    I could do weapon modelling, I've had experience with Rhino3d, and sound. I also have a knack for drawing and would be more than happy to do concept art.

    [EDIT] I can also handle the legal side of things, and (if you're doing a game that requires an advanced knowledge of current military technology) I'm you man for the technical details for the various gadgetry of the game.

    Sorry about taking so long to reply, I've been at my grandparents house since the weekend.

    But I second what Renegade said,

    *Bump*

    Also, Renegade is now our sound/concept art guy. Welcome <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
