Readyroom

Here's a pic and a download of the readyroom I made for my not yet started NS map.  Right now it's compiled as a normal Half-Life map because there are no NS specific features

PS It's not just a plane greyish room.  There are some neat effects that go with entering the portals even though you don't go anywhere yet

    well the idea of unformed beings choosing which side they are on in a battle in some enclosed room with portals is also somewhat out of the context of the NS universe.  Although I haven't read to deeply into the NS story, I doubt that there is some serious explanation for readyrooms into the NS world other than a way to select which team you are on.  In which case, I can make it however I want.  And in my personal opinion, it's better as an abstract looking place rather than a realistic room that would confuse people into thinking that this is some sealed off area of a spaceship or spacestation

    I like it. I took his idea (for the effects going through a portal), and wrote down my very elaborate twist on it, but I like it. Several of the ideas for the basic starting model were 'unformed beings' of one kind or another. I doubt that's what they'll be, but it'd be nice if they were.

    If you want the wad I used for the flashing images I could send it to you.  It has them already set up to animate and you could easily add more if you want

    yes, a little different than the ns theme, but i love it!  it looks and sounds so cool.

    Umm.. flashing images? When I stepped through all I got was the screen going white.

    the images are only for when you choose the marine or alien team

    Ok, are you trying to use cameras to do this effect? If so, have you tested it in the NSTR2? 'cause cameras are broken in there. If you are using cameras, the only way we'll see this is if we load it up in regular HL.

    ok, it works fine in regular hl.  I am wondering if cameras are going to be permenantly gone from NS though, in which case I would have to work around it or just get rid of cameras

    Cameras SHOULD be fixed in NS... I'll check this out in HL soon (when I grab some time) and see what it's like).
