Interesting Game

We were playing on eclipse. I was commander. Started pretty standard, we took control of eclipse, and then maintenance. They came back and took maintenance. Pretty normal 2 hive aliens vs 1 hive marines. We kept exchanging hives back and forth between eclipse and maintenance. As soon as we lost one, we got the other. Eventually aliens got all 3 hives. I was getting **obscenity** cause my grunts weren't working as a team. But they eventually got the picture. We took back eclipse, moved onto computer core, and finally maintenance. Game lasted well over 3 hours.

We started with 2 hives, then down to 1, then to none. We fought back and over took the 3 hive aliens with their onos and bilebombing fades. That was a great game.

Further proof that 3 hives doesn't always mean the game is over for marines...

I just finished a game where we won against three hives, too... though it was such a sad game all around that it doesn't really prove much other than mostly incompetent aliens lose to mostly incompetent marines

I started out on hera commanding. We went for vent hive, then tried to move for processing. I was having a lot of trouble keeping my marines where they needed to be. I rushed upgrades, so they were pretty deadly for a bunch of stupid rambos (not all of them, I dearly love the guys that stuck together). Early in the game something totally random happened, I was pulled from the game for a moment, causeing me to lose sound (stupid MSN messanger thinks it takes priority over everything else *grumble grumble*). That's a difficult position to be in as commander. It didn't matter much, as most of them were off doing random things, meaning they were nothing better than distractions. The aliens made a push on our main base, leveld a few structures (no turrets, as I had thought my team would be able to pull off the stay-near-phase and defend tactic... I was wrong). By this time I realized we wern't going to make any more offensive progress, and I started on heavy equipment. With a few good players in HA with big guns, we pushed back there attack, even when they had three hives (they eventually took vent, only one marine bothered to ever try defending). Eventually it got to the point where a commander wasn't much use, so I suited up and joined the fray, leaving everyone to just hop in the chair as needed for their own equipment. We went massivly jetpacker rambo, and eventually got them down to ONE HIVE, with no left over heavy aliens. They resigned

Both teams were throughly incompetent, according to the aliens and my observations of most of my team. It was an insanly long game with stupidity all around. The few good players saved our bacon (One person killed two umbraing lerks at once with a GL, I was SOOO happy, and his backup cleared out the two fades and gorge with them )

Escaping to the menu and resuming should bring your sound back.
