Players randomly drop during game
I run a WinXP Pro system behind a linksys firewall set to DMZ (all ports are open). People can connect to my server but they drop randomly, usually within 2 minutes. I have no idea why this is happening, I also noticed that I whenever I host on other games like WC3, I have the same problem. Help would be appreciated

I have the same problem with my linux server. Clients disconnect with "Illegal host message" or something of the like.
I have a linksys router too (Newest firmware), Windows XP
Same problem, here.
anyone have ANY idea?
Players say that they get different error messages sometimes
This is exactly the problem we've been having at TMOL Natural Selection V 1.03:

We are desperate for any information anyone can provide on getting this to work properly. Here is our information:
Server: Athlon 4 @ 900Mhz w/ 320 MB RAM, Cable Modem Hosted
Windows 2000
Maxplayers: 16
Running NS Server 1.03 on HLDS
Using a linksys router with DMZ hosting enabled to the server port
I've looked all over the net and no one knows what is causing this. I think it is a major issue and one the NS guys need to address, because it is definitely hitting peoples' abilities to run servers.
(in console/server.cfg)
log on
mp_logfile 1
This way you can run thru your server logs and check for any odd occurances.
have you tried removing your linksys router and running straight into your cablemodem/dsl router?
i would too, except mine was free
Best router before a Cisco 1600.

Impossible. We have multiple machines running off this router.
Anyone have any other suggestions? Never had any problems running other types of HLDS games w/ this router, and DMZ makes the server wide-open to the public.
