<div class="IPBDescription">The way our IRC ops remember it</div> While idling in #naturalselection today, many of the ops/playtesters/devs got into the nostalgic mood. Most of them changed their names to something like Gramprox or Grams3r.
So here, I present many quotes from these people, Illustrating how it was "Back in the day".
- Arrr... Aye reemmbaar 1.0... those whar the days
-Back in my day you had to walk 20 miles in snow to post on the forums, and it wasuphill both ways!
-I remember when you didn't have to spam the forums for someone to recognize who you were
-I remeber when the model forum wasn't full of ripoff
AVP2 conversions... oh wait, it never was x_x
-Back in my day we didn't have such fancy things as LMG's and pistols....we had to do it with sticks and stones
-I remember when the mapping forum did not have any pleas for help
-phasegates? PAH! we had to go through infestation and slow lifts, BOTH WAYS!
-Back in my day, we had to knife every skulk we seen.. Guns? bah, we didn't need 'em.
-Back in my day, we didnt have candy, we had rocks! and we liked it!!!!
-Back in my day i was a CS llama who awped j00r sorry n00b **obscenity**
-Back in my day we spent 27 hours a day getting eaten by skulks and they were the best days of my life
-Our armory consisted of an old rusty bucket with ammo packs in them
-And our observatory was a coat hanger with a lamp shade hung on it!
-Pfft, our phasegate was just a tin can with a spring!
-Back in my day our turrets were sticks with masks to scare away the enemy, and they were scared dag-dabbit!
-Voicecomms were paper cups with strings attached to them
-Back in the day, admin_slap was a swift beating from a cane
-Back in my day we didn't even have aliens, we just beat each other with naily planks for fun
-Siege cannons? we had to drill a hole through the wall!
-Nowadays those marines are weak, they use jetpacks! We used harness with some hairdryers strapped to it with really long extension cords
- We had to walk 15 miles in the snow, up hil, down hill, in our grandaddys pajamas! And we didnt even have a command station! Also the skulks were stronger back then too! But we didnt need guns, we had our butter knives from our last meal!
