The commander will also help a lot in this respect... in no other game/mod has one person been given as much power over his teammates. Not only does he control all upgrades/ammo/health/respawns... he actually gives you orders to follow!! I think this will actually make it easier for non-team players to cooperate... they don't have to *communicate*, they simply have to follow orders.

I'd guess that communication is the single biggest problem in teamplay games - many gamers aren't the fastest typists (and I know that I, a very fast typer, don't talk much in games - too busy playing! ), and direct voice connections still aren't all that widespread. A commander helps alleviate the communication, because you've got one guy whose sole purpose on the team is strategy.

I'd donate Comprox. But, I'm 14. And unemployed. (Don't need a job. Too lazy, too.) However... If I come across some spare money kicking around, And I've got nothing better, I'll send it over. Probably have to convert it to american though... Considering I'm from the 'Great White North'.

I'd rather have the Servers controlled by STAFF, as opposed to someone from the community. Then the training servers cannot be abused.

There is a small little feature that Half-Life has called "Rcon," perhaps you've heard of it?

the fool, you don't have to be so harsh about it. Even if jed was being rude.

I wasn't being rude in the slightest, though you two seem to be. I was stating a fact. Staff should handle the Training Servers, to make sure that the owners don't add their buddies to the trainers list or rcon lists without consulting the staff first. I basically feel that a training server would be TOO easy to exploit if we just let people offer their computers for it. I'd rather have Comprox handle the servers, that way we can keep them completely staff owned and always under staff control.

Yes Jedisar I must say i agree. TheFool, please don't withdraw your offer for a server, we can still use all the servers we can get. But official training servers should be staff-owned.

staff owned meaning comprox, cuz it sounded like jed ment that he DIDN'T want comprox in charge of training servers, however flay said he wanted to be in charge of it so, iunno, either way

Training servers would be special. Flayra is thinking of making it so only people with specific WON IDs can have control over the unique things they'd need. There are other possibilities of course, such as rcon and such, which would be much simpler to impliment, but would risk someone breaking the password. The dev team is working out options, and will decide later, probably.

    Now, everyone.. be NICE.

nah, I responding to TheFool's post about offering his Dedicated server for a training Server..while he may not himself abuse it, there might be people that do

But I edited my post and included the post so that no one else would come to the same conclusion that comprox and you did.

Don't worry about. I'm not about to let personal conflicts with community members prevent me from enjoying the mod.
