Sound Channels Reversed

In NS only
Okay, the problem is simple enough to explain:
While playing Natural Selection, the stereo channels are reversed. This is a problem that exists ONLY with Natural Selection; in all other mods, the sound is fine. Since the ambient MP3 sound doesn't come from a source, nor do I know how the MP3s are handled by NS, I don't know whether or not the MP3s are reversed, too.
I very recently upgraded my computer; most of it was gutted, except for a couple parts. Before the upgrade, this sound problem did not exist. Items marked with a * are from my old system.
P4 2.4 GHz
512 MB RAM
*8X DVD ROM
48X CD writer
*GeForce 4 Ti 4400
*Turtle Beach Montego II sound card
Running Windows XP
I think it's likely that it's a driver problem. Windows XP just installed whatever driver it thought was the best, but those drivers are often incomplete. However, the sound card is an OEM card (it came with a Dell PC) and if you go to the Turtle Beach site it says to consult Dell tech support, rather than downloading and installing their drivers.
So, question: is this a legal thing, or will those drivers not work with my card? I don't want to install the drivers that came with the Dell PC since they were designed for Windows 98.
In case it's not a driver thing, I'd thought I'd post and ask here, since it's a localized problem.
Other than this, it's a great game (In my opinion, the best Half-Life mod to date) and I still play it with this problem, it's just sometimes it messes me up as I hear the sound and turn the wrong way only to be shot in the back.
