    If its valve hammer editor. this editor sux often in object surfaves if there is an inner corner.
    Sometimes it flips the normal of surfaces and turns the object parts inside out.
    a surface that crosses itself is not good too.

    on most errors it tells you a brush or entitie number that causes the error.
    seach this map object in:
    Map - go to brush number - brush # ...
    , delete and remap it.

    For my maps its ALWAYS been a texture axis perpendicular to face error with ALT-P or the compiler log will tell you where to look. Delete or fix the offensive brush and go from there. One of the easier things to fix, thank god.

    here is a third veiw on the problem:

    you over stretched a texture x1234 and also have it shrunk down to less than 0.

    if you have zoners it usually tells you the brush #, the texture that is the problem, and the coordinates where the problem is.

    this helps immensly in finding the problem. if you are not getting this info, perhaps you need a newer version of zoners/merles compile tools?

    Make sure he didn't change the -subdivide value beyond 240 in the brand new HLBSP. It unfortunately is restricted to working in empty box test maps, not in any practical application.

    If you don't know what an error is, first thing you should do is check the manual <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (probably ZHLTProblems.html)

    ...and I quote:

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Bad Surface Extents:</b>

    This is typically caused by having extremely large scales on faces, (typically far above 10, usually 100+). Otherwise it almost always shows up on a 'check for problems' in Worldcraft as a 'texture axis perpendicular to face' error.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
