Story: One-hive Win

I played an awesome game with some of the guys from EC today on Nano-Gridlock. We were playing on ns_nancy, starting in the Noname hive. We rushed at them for awhile. They kept shooting us down, but we overwhelmed them in their base! We found out that they had secured Port Engine and Subspace though, building a base up in Subspace. That's when we started organizing. We first attacked Port Engine, after 2 attempts, we finally got it back. By then, they had fully secured Subspace. Well, we got smart by then and organized. We crowded up in our only hive, and Comprox led us through the vents, as close to the base as we could get. We burst out and suprised the marines. It was utter crazyness. We ripped through marines like hot knives through butter and quickly destroyed their structures. We then ALL started chewing up the command console. It was awesome fun, and we started cheering once we realized we won with only one hive. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Games can be won with one hive if the aliens are organized. By the way, thanks for leading us, Comprox.

Here's one for those marine commanders that swear by the idea that building turrets at base is the first step to defeat.

Nice turnaround, serves em' rihght

Heres my story :

Me as commander, putting standard buildings down,ALL the marines started building,NO ONE BOTHERED TO COVER!!!!!!! I was screaming at them to cover but they kept pretending not to understand english. Then the skulk rush hit and all the marines were CHOMPED cause they were building and not a SINGLE BULLET WAS FIRED.

Man. I was on the marine team that game. It wasn't quite the skulks rush that finished us (although quite wicked). It was the power of Offensive gorging.
It was one of the guys in the TAU clan that did it. We couldn't walk out of spawn and our comm didn't even remotely have time for siege to stop the attacks.
I mean, we could have still kept going. Our last man got a CC up at Subspace and boom we were off. But our comm didn't get hardly enough turrets at subspace or kept people there to stop a rush. I was in Auxilary Generators when I heard "GET TO SUBSPACE!!" and 5 seconds later "Nevermind we lost it cause no marines could get there." Undefended bases are the bane of any team and truly are skulk fodder.

On another note, same map, same server, day before, we held 2 hives of subspace and port, and were teching up when my buddy Bill J McDaniel and myself were alone at port. There were plenty of turrets, but 1 TF and a phase gate. I heard the pitter patter of skulk feet, so I turn to look, and instead of 1 skulk, the entire team of 8 poured out of the sub tunnel. They raped our port outpost in about 30 seconds. Somehow they failed to get the phase gate down and we rebuilt in time to stop any further rushes.
But organized skulks are much more scary than any Fade/Lerk combo.

There is a frenzy to the skulk attack that a fade/lerk cant match. Its the sheer numbers of biting monsters jumping everywhere.
You cant decide who to shoot at so you try blasting them all wich means that you kill no one.
A fade/lerk doesn't have that great rate of fire and even if they really hurt you still allways know where they are. They aren't running around in circles trying to bite your kneecaps of
