Building Speed Depends On Fps?

topic, thats my question.

i recently discovered the following: 3 turrets to build. Me and another marine starts building, me one, he one. The result: i finish my turret, while the other marine finishs two. Strange. But testet more than twice.
Dont know how many fps the other marine got, but my standard is 37 ftp (even dropping in base areas).

Next, i also experienced that it seems that i can build faster (getting more building sounds, more sparkles), if i look straight at the floor (my fps goes up to about 50 ... max 60)...

Is it true???

    i seem to biuld slow too. i get a massive 15-20 fps (sometimes less than 10).

    im not sure but i seem to build alot slower than other people <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I've noticed that on a really (cruddy) server, I seem to take quite a bit longer to evolve. This may just be lag, or I may just be plain wrong, but it sure seems like a noticeable difference.

    You may wish to try posting a copy of this in the Bug Reports forum, where I recall some folks claiming similar problems.

    Apparently Build speeds ARE client-side so those nasty speed hacks work.
    But this is only what i've read and not sure if any of it's true.

    as far as i know, the speed hack is surpressed by half-life... so speed hack isnt a problem.
    But yes, building is client-side. I think that's why building is depended on your computer and your fps. And exactly this should be fixed, to even out chances.

    From my experience, building is fps-based and evolving ping-based.

    And also, anything client-side is in theory hackable.

    As posted in the "build speed" topic an offencive chamber builds in 7 sec at 99fps, but around 15 seconds at 30FPS.

    Yes, this is a known, and rather difficult bug. Seeing that apparently other mods have similiar problems (CS' slowdown after being shot also seems to depend on your FPS), it might be quite a job to fix.
