Weapons inspiration

Design thoughts?
I was just curious to hear from some of the modelers about what their inspiration for the weapons was. The Heavy Machine Gun and the Shotgun are pretty original designs but the LMG and the pistol seem to borrow from current firearms. The pistol has many HK USP elements and Walther looking grips. The side mounted, curving magazine on the LMG has a old-school (WWII and earlier) feel to it. Did you base the weapons off of anything in particular?

LMG . . definitely based off the WWII sten. Also, the weird gun that the little kid uses to whup up on the drive thru truck in 'Maximum Overdrive' (NO idea what gun that was . . . maybe I'll try to look it up*). I don't know why, but I love the whole 'clip in the side thing'.
HMG is a blatant rip off of the H&K oicw, but I love the way that weapon looks and I don't mind being derivative . .
The pistol is your basic pistol body, based on sort of a mixture of an mp433 and a usp, with a big-### muzzle break up front.
The weapons may see minor refinements before v1, but I can tell you (Flayra permission willing) that the HMG will undergo a fairly significant evolution before v2 (or v1x). . .
*found it-- it's the Sterling L2A3 Mark IV . . also looks like the foundation for the Star Wars Stormtrooper rifle . . .

Good, great excellent. I didn't want vehicles to be a part of this game anyways, it wouldn't fit. Vehicles and Half-Life just don't work, it's a proven fact.
My question is: Do you guys need any sounds for these weapons? I 've got some friends with decent recording equipment and between all of us we either own or have access too some weaponry similar to what's being used in the game.
Do you need sounds like: pistol slide operating, shotgun shucking, magazine insertion, any of the above type weapons firing? (these would have to be recorded outside, but you could add echo or something for indoor sounds)
Due to some Marine Corps reserve, National Guard connections, I may be able to get some automatic fire sounds as well.
Any need or has this been covered?
Do you have any idea how funny that would be? An Armored Golf Cart?
"I am the fat space station security guard...behold my bulk..mmm..donuts.."
But anyway..heh heh..Yah, I wouldn't mind a hover board
If later than NS, we're gonna have to FOX those punks...
