Post up your ideas for readyrooms.

An idea some people have been saying is make it really hard to get to the marine and alien tunnel, and if you fail you get put in auto join.

Also you could make the readyroom a slanted tunnel that you can't climp up, and you slide down into auto-join, and have to do something difficult to get to the marine or alien rooms

    Best ready room ever: just let them fall a long distance and below them is their "destiny" join team.

    theres one rule for NS maps.
    RR should be small (not force to waste much time in), have enough info_player_start with enough space between them AND <b>a quick free choice wich team to join</b>.

    A hanger. Either side 2 drop ships.

    To put it one is infected, (aliens) one isn't (marine)

    Observe map you go up some stairs to....the observatory.

    Random team you jump out the open air lock.

    join_spectate should be a damaged high voltage, or in other ways dangerous, area with a big sign "<i>DANGER! do not touch/enter !</i>" (or you will join spectators) and of course the "spectate hologram". <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Imo, the RR should reflect the map it is in, but in a way that sets it apart from the map itself.
    Also, you should/could create a RR that sets up the map(eg: Marines get into a drop-ship, if the map is on a planet, etc..).

    what about minigames in the readyroom like
    - skulk racing - a part of the ready room where skulk races happens again and again, then the players could go in and bet on a specific skulk...
    - ping pong - stand in front of the ball to hit it, then just play.
    - Onos riding - try to stay on the onos for at long as you can.
    - skulk ranch - catch the most skulks to win.

    Minigames would be nice, but NS already eats a lot of server cpu power....

    I think just through architecture a ready room can be made into a fun little bout.

    I think an rdy room with a holo-map of the entire map and maby even something like a bar with an NPC that when you "Talk" (Press 'use' key) to it it will say like hi or whatever. That would be kool!

    Omg i just had the perfect idea...

    1. Players start in an open area
    2. Players can either walk into a hive (aliens) or walk into an APC or a Dropship (Marines)
    3. This would make a great ALIENS feel, the only problem would be is making the APC
    4. When you walk into the APC, the "LETS ROCK" wav plays, and as u walk into the hive, you hear an alien scream

    Sounds like a good idea. Although it sounds pretty similar to that 2 dropship idea stated earlier.

    Have you played NS_hera I believe? That is a good ready room example. Easy and efective choce system and a little secret to boot! Thats how a read room should be.

    cant remember which map, might be hera actually, but i was flying round in spec mode and i found the ready room miles above the actual map, and below that is some other box.... full of stars.... how quaint.

    have readyroom with sensible portals. I'm talking about Hera here, where you actually feel like you're transcending some border. All the other readyrooms don't quite cut it in that regard, especially Tanith -- don't have just a flat 'ol wall.
