Footstep Sounds

Am i the only one that notices this but for some reason in the ready room the footstep sounds are loud and clear but ingame as marines you can barely hear your own steps (except when you jump)

In the future is NS going to have a different step sound for heavy armor?

    the HA, don't have any sound(at least las ttime i checked) there has been numerous topic about the HA sound, generally most agreed with a sound from the hydralics liftigng the legs, then a loud *CHONK* when they hit the ground. - maybe the reason you don't hear the footsteps is because ingame you often fire, build or doing other noisy acts, because i can't hear the fotsteps clearly.

    That would be great to scare the skulks with the HA noise.

    yer the hydrolic noise when the legs bend and then a clunk should do it.

    I agree, that's always been my stance. But you always get the folks: "600 pounds of servo-enhanced....makes no sound??!!" What you have to realize is that the lack of footsteps was a deliberate measure. (Otherwise it would have been fixed before 1.0). There is clearly a reason for it. And I won't bore people again with my stupid version of an explanation. Read above.

    yah, last time i was a skulk i was hanging on around a corner waiting for some marines, then out of nowhere w/o any footsteps came 2 HA/HMG marines. I'm pretty sure you can figure out what happened from there.

    If you can't hear marine and skulk footstep sounds, you should really turn up the volume on your speakers or use headphones.

    Well I dunno why you people are worried about HA Marines conducting black ops stealth missions in your base. They're slow as hell and bigger'n an elephant. If an HA Marine sneaks up on you, you are the least aware person ever.

    Although I'm not objecting to footstep sounds for them. The hydraulic leg sound idea is kinda cool hehe. Almost like the powerloader in Aliens.
