<div class="IPBDescription">but I'm going to take a breather</div> NS, in the beginning, promised to be the end-all to my dreams.. a FPS-version of Starcraft (a game I'm not too great at, but I've become quite the twitch master through CS). However, with the plethora of strategies offered, I still only see ONE strategy used by the aliens, and the marines vary only by the tastes of their comm (some do this first, others do that). I miss the variety that was a completely silent skulk, the surprise super-fast invisible fades (ooh ooh, you don't use acid spray? how come you don't die??), and the enjoyment that was an invisible gorge webbing and healspraying you to death (but I am now a firm believer in movement chambers as a gorgy.. I simply love adrenaline-enhanced webbing orgies)

But, since this game has progressed into such a one-way only mentality, I find it difficult to break the same'ol same'ol strategies, and see little change of this in the near future (until somebody messes up and they have to make drastic changes to the balance again). NS was loads of fun through the 3 versions I've played, and I hope I come back and play this mod every once in a while, but the selling point of NS no longer exists. It's all about how far along the learning curve your team is, and nothing about how intuitive/ingenious they are (which is what NS was in the beginning.)

gg all, good luck training those n00bs, and I hope to see you guys on the servers every once in a while when I bother "dusting off NS"

As for me, I think I'll go back to CS, where I can enjoy myself more (I'm not limited to one choice, I can buy many things)

Postnote: Who knows? maybe in 1.04 there will be some strategy planning/changing, but I doubt it. I'll probably come back to NS when it gets the client-side update, which should fix many of the "issues" that have been causing problems throughout this almost-bug-free beta

[edit] oh yeah, I also meant to thank people, like Morrik, the Ninjaburger guy, voogru, comprox (especially comprox), and many other people that I've had meaningful debates with during my course here at the forums[/edit]
