Question About 1.04

I was just reading over the details about v1.04 and I have a question, maybe someone could clarify for me. One of the changes is...
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Aliens no longer donate their points back to their team resource pool when they leave the team (exploitable)<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Now, off the bat, I found this to be unfair. Lets make up a hypothetical situation.

If we were playing 8v8 game of NS (I was aliens). A teammate of mine leaves the game (due to whatever reason). If it were 1.04, my team would not receive the resources he's gathered for his playing time. Are we getting screwed over, or would we be receiving the same amount of resources even if he were never in the game?

from what I've gathered, I'm afraid I'd have to vote for the "screwed over" choice.

This is a good idea since nothing seems to stop those little "resource mucker-uppers"
I've seen people rejoin a server so that gorges could build hives faster :/
This punishes anyone who legitimately leaves or crashes, but it seems to be the only way to stop the resource hackers

the bug has been fixed in 1.04, because theres an easy way to give a gorg all of your res, and immediately resume alien play. This could give a gorg enough res for a hive in under 2 mins, and 1.04 fixes that. So you marines will have a little time for <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> before <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> .
