... I was under the impression that marine vs marine and human vs human would a "just for fun" kind of things. I mean, all the weapons and equipment have been coded and modelled, and the gameplay worked out. Why bother to work in a THIRD side? Then you've got to implement a whole new crapload of content when the existing stuff works fine.
Why are people under the impression that marine vs marine will be a deathmatch? Marine turrets are more effective on slow moving, lightly armoured targets (such as LA marines) than alien turrets are. They'll be like SGs in TFC in MvM combat. That adds craploads of strategy!
My biggest fear is that people will start playing it more than the other types of gameplay, making them minorities and eventually dominating the NS scene.

I just dunno how the alien whould recognize the enemy aliens, cuz if they ust difer by a small bit (a few colored lines) you wont notice while running ... they should make greenish aliens fight the normal ones

I'd love to see the alternate gametypes created, I don't think they'd detract from the original AvsM mode, it'd draw a much bigger playerbase. But it'll be hard to work out.
Just think of the main problem with MvM right now... the maps are only designed for a single marine base. So any MvM games would have to use specially designed maps. Also, you'd need to make a second set of models, or edit the curent ones to show team colors so you know who your target is. Same for all structures. Maybe even team-tracking on weapons... wouldn't it suck to research HMGs for your team, just to have the enemy steal them? Or have the enemy eating medkits intended for your troops?
For aliens, it'd be even harder to figure out, but could be *tons* of fun. Same modeling and color problems as marines, plus it'd be extremely hard to defend against attackers, offense towers would be useless. I'd imagine AvA would be very difficult to play, just because their strengths and weaknesses would be magnified so much. Skulk fights would be intense, gorges incredibly vulnerable, and fades would lay waste to everything they can see.
Plus, how would hives work for aliens? 3 hives, with hot competition to control the middle one? 4? 6, with 3 for each team?
Just a question to the Devs. Will the opposing marine team be from those planets that were overun accidentally by nanites, that were features in the manual? I read that peice in the manual, and I thought immidiatly that the opposing marine team had to be half human, half cybernetic creatures from those planets. 5 hives maybe, as the competion for the 3rd hive for either side would be VERY intesnse due to fades and skulks and lerks(less) everywhere doing massive damage to each other.
Am I correct in assuming that 1 skulk bite would do about 65 damage to another skulk? If so, then you bite the skulk, then run away, AND PARASITE HIM <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> This would kill him <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Oh, the embarrasing possibilities!
Even with lvl3 carapace(me thinks - could be totally wrong in calculations) it would still take 2 skulk bites to kill a skulk, ooooooo early carapace not NEARLY as useful. Also def chambers will be less use due to the low chances of skulks actually attacking OTs, as oppose to running past them.
This would FINALLY get a move away from D-M-S!(We can only hope)
Instead movement or sens would be the better first choices, due to things like celebrity or even cloaking!

your all crazy.... i dont like marine vs marine or alien vs alien... its just stupid. The waepons and everything was designed for marine vs alien. You cannot just play marine vs marine. it wouldnt work. You need to make a completely different game or its not fun.... no. it doesnt work

Err... is more likely with 3 hives. Each alien team start with one hive and there's one "clean" hive to takeover (apart from enemy's)
6 hives would allow the aliens to tech up fully, and EVERYONE knows they want it
