<div class="IPBDescription">Armory w/ heal ect..</div> Hey guys, Ive played on a couple servers and they have a med pack hovering over the armory which makes it so when you get ammo it gives you health also. The mod also makes it so you can store res in the hive and/or give them to players.
Does anyone know where I can get this mod? Or one like it? Any help would be great, thanks

i connected to the server, but it wouldnt finish, the all seeing eye pings it at 600 ms SIX HUNDRED!!!! imaging getting that ping + NS lag! yikes
i dont think i can enjoy it.
i think i might try and figure out how to do it myself... i have written a few plugins for adminmod on the site (R3AP3R) and have done my own version of adminmod with all admin commands opened up. but im not sure if i can tackle this. off to try...
he said the dev team wouldnt like the release because it altered ns.
i myself say release what ya got if people want it.
look at team fortress there are so many flavors of it. it was a mod for every person. there are a ton of mods for it. i liked using a few of them on my old tfc server when it was running. all i wanted to do was add health to the advanced armory. so in order to get health it would have to be advanced. that costs money so it would actually offset perfectly. it would also help relieve the rines from idiot comms that only worry about building.
anyways i did ask him and he said he had thought about it but that he didnt like the idea that so many people including the dev team were against it.
i would love to see it added. via ns or addon.
ill let you know how it goes, when i get the time to rip into it.
im documenting all the touch and use toys in the cldlls and dlls.
i used to do alot of old Quake qc but man this is alot different.
As for how long depiecing the nitty gritty stuff will take I can't make any estimates. My only ideas so far as to how to track these things down have failed and I'm thinking I might just have to start doing full memory dumps of an entity an analyzing it byte by byte(but I REALLY don't like the crash issues that would bring up if I make any mistakes)

Although Marines can spawn faster, and for 15 point with a sensory tower, you can force multi spawns without spawn portals. So I guess there is more to the balance issue then just the health aspect. But As far as balance issues go, I will leave that in Flay's hands. He has a much better idea on how it should be. So I will trust him to solve the problems if any do exsist.
And besides, from my point of view, unless a marine has HA or a jet pack. They are expendable. And don't need health packs dropped. Of course when i command, there are a few marines who i try and keep alive. Thoose who can actually aim and deffend weak areas, or thoose who actualy do the building. But from a pub server standpoint, the balance issue is completely different then what you would want or need for clan play. Something that I think is more of an issue with the dev team. And I'm glad it is that way.
i'll say it again, the dev team has already planned on this, they just haven't put it in yet.
there is a healthstation.mdl file on your comp, its just not in the coding yet.

Its not easy to change stuff like the player resources, Good luck.
The only things I will release will be small little things, like my anti-stuck plugin which im going to begin work with now. (one thing about that, it wont be open source but it wont have a connection message either)
I've tested out his anti-stuck plugin first hand on his test server, and it's great (especially since it has an anti-afk portion). I personally can't wait for it.
Other major changes though, like the medpacks and such, I won't use, since I run a beta server and have to keep it as clean as possible.
Forgot to add, the reason I want to get my hands on these mods is for a server that we are putting up at University of Alaska Southeast for lan parties that we have every Saturday night and maybe a 24/7 server.
they run nsadmin and have a community
(its humps server and i met him through another mod sort of carried over)
it works well and i like it but i also see the dev teams veiw about modding the server
but in the end i still prefer to play on ns admin servers as i feel it enhances the gameplay greatly

a person could also use spidermonkey to give health from armory if there was a way to make the logs show armory usage.
the way i have always looked at modding a mod is it shows people love the mod so much that they take it upon themselves to fix what they want fixed instead of going back to cs or dod or tfc. which we were very close to doing. note "were"

I plan on making a career out of it(specifically game programming), so I really enjoy depiecing how this stuff worx
i went to border books in tacoma here to see if they had anything on the small programming language for adminmod and they had nothing in stock or in the inventory as a purchasable or orderable item <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
and I don't think that small is widespread enough to warrant anything besides the pdf document it has.
If u wanna learn small c, start at regular c and work your way down :/
and yes, the only way to really learn something is hands-on, that's how I've done most of my learning, one retarded project after another, each just slightly less retarded than the last
the only thing im looking for and hope its out in 1.04? is the health for adv armory. the marines on my server are in a hella bad way.. they dont win much. would be nice to have a little better game than that. when im alien i wont even go onos because its not even a close match. mostly bad comms i think.
where do you reside? sounds like youve been to tackyaroma (tacoma).
we are going to hold a lan party this summer.. hoping for a big turnout. most of my clanmates will be here.
