Resources - Do Towers Matter Towards End?

Just an observation i've made and I could be way off but I would like to see if anyone else has noticed.

Towards the end of a game have you guys noticed how quickly you get resources even if you do not have but 1 or 2 towers?

Example: Aliens are winning - yet somehow marines have the resources for constant HA and HMG's etc. Just a small example but I think you see what I mean.

As commander I see my resource towers get destroyed all the time - yet towards the end I always have alot of resources that continue to keep coming.

Same thing for aliens.

Am I alone here?

    I will hold back my wild rage toward your post, but I have never noticed that at all playing marine. We're lucky if we have anywhere from 40-80 resources once aliens capture the 2nd hive, and by that time the aliens are expanding and taking our marine resource towers. Add on to that the siege marines are trying to put up, maybe 1 grenade launcher, maybe 2 HA's and believe me, resources are not plentiful for marines toward the end game <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    game compinsates for uneven teams by giving more resources to the team with less people. As far as getting more resources toward the end of the game.... if you are aliens toward the end all the skulks are usually 33/33 so the spillover goes to gorge.

    if you are marines and only have 2 RTs when the second hive comes u lost

    Ahhh, the pain of being Gorge just after 2nd hive goes up, when you go from 10-15 rez per 'tick' to ONE. One LOUSY resource point. Just because every mofo in the game is building up rez again, and suddenly you're getting nothing.

    It's actually the argument for NOT throwing up hive 2 if you can help it, until a gorge is ALSO ready in rez for Hive 3, thus saving muchos waiting.

    I don't personally agree with it, but I can see the (twisted) logic to it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    That makes perfect sense to me. If your skulks are vicious enough to keep all 3 hives clear, there's no reason to hurry for fades. If you manage to get both hives under construction at once, it'll be almost impossible for your defense to slip and lose both of them. Even if one dies, marines will think they've accomplished something important, only to find that the fades aren't dying off...
