Motd Not Visible

<div class="IPBDescription">Sad, I know</div> I'm running an HLDS under Linux with my WonID set as admin. When I join the server, I don't see the motd. Any ideas? I'm new to HLDS_L so that might account for part of it. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'>

Its a NS "problem"

You only see the MOTD if you have The NS Help System on.

Really hope they fixes this since its in the MOTD that I usually have the Rules etc for the server.

yes, its enabled by default, but most people turn it off when they figure out how to play, then the motd doesnt show

yeah, I think that happens with admin_mod CSAYS and TSAYS as well. Turn off help, and you don't get the tsays or csays (which are the same in NS it seems as well)

I think it would be good if they modify the help system to only turn off the hints that ya don't need. Like it would be nice to have it say there is too much web in an area, but not tell you all about the buildings.

My solution thus far has been to put the rules in the consgreet. They have to look at it for 20-40 (or more) seconds before the connection completes anyway.

I put them in there too.. but lets be honest.. only server admins look at other ppls consgreet msg's .. lol.. anyway.. I have a work around for amx .. it's kinda cheesy.. but it works... if you are interested just search for 'grip of amx plugins'.
