I hunt the arctic Snonos Join Date: 2003-01-09 Member: 12097Members
After asking several NS players (about 67 if I remember) this is what I found out what are the most annoying things any player noob, clan member, single player, what ever has to deal with.
10: Alien sided commanders
When the commander needs to be shot: Ok I under stand that there are many noob commanders out there that is ok. Everyone was a noob at once. I always promote newbie comms. There is no better way to learn then to actualy do something. What I am mad is the immature goofs that get in the comm chair and proceed to lay down 20 turret factories or comm chairs just to waste resources and skrew the marines so they lose. Vote kicking the commander works but by then its too late, the damage has been done.
9: Rambos
Its a team game. Its been said before. You need team work in this game as a marine. Other games like Counter-Strike and even Day of Defeat say its a team based game but any expirienced player knows that you can own a server all by yourself. Not the case in NS. Yes one HA, HMG guy can do lots of damage but he won't get far when his armour is acided (not a word I know , but you know what I mean) and hes out of ammo.
8: Communication fools
I need ammo I need ammo , Commander you suck b/c I need a med pack and ammo even though I still have 87 hp and I've only used 1 magazine and you wont resupply me! Don't mock the comm unless you have been one and have put up with all these people's whining voices.
7: Exploiters/cheaters
I forget the map, the one with the sewer hive. I thought it was fixed in one of the patches but someone was doing a resource exploit I dont know how. But the team this one guy was on (didnt matter which one he did it for both teams over the course of 3 map changes) had maxed out resources every time with in 5 min.
Someone said it was leave come back thingy not sure how it works.
Really people are you so nonskilled you can't win a legitimit way? Even the exploiter's team mates said it was not fair and not fun and they left.
6: Tkers
For obvious reasons.
People hate it how it counts negativly on your score after someone tks you (like it's your fault you died)
5: People who complain This game is a rippoff of Starcraft/ Aliens etc
Well the alines do look just like and have the same atributes and weapons of many of the star craft aliens (The Zerg)but ya know what? I dont care. Its a great game. I in fact have all the custom alien skins, models and sounds. If you dont like the game dont play it. Which in general leads me to #4
4: Whiners
This server is laggy, crappy, (explititve) etc. bla bla bla blab la
If you don't like the server leave. Don't Cry to everyone about it. No one is forcing you to stay and play at what ever server you are in.
3: Laggers
Ok I know this one is hard guys but really.
I would make fun of laggers but I used to be one back in the day bfore I got cable and now a T1 at college. But really its not the persons fault if they lag. High speed connections cost 2x the times of dial up and may not even be available where the Lagger might be living. Lots of people complained about laggers but as I said it't not their fault so I put in the next best thing people hate.
Cocky clan members
We all know them. Noobies have it the worst. The whole "Im in a clan so im better then you bla bla bla." Everyone was a noob once so don't mock them. I (and many others) try to help noobies out b/c I guess you could say I'm trying to raise an army of TSA marines to better deal with the Alien threat. Am I the best NS player out there? No of course not. But I'm not a noob either and I try to be a team player as much as possible.
2: Skilled people getting called haxers, hackers, cheaters, bla bla bla
Oh look "so and so" killed me Well then since I am the god of all games that I play it must be BS and he must be cheating! I hate to bring you the bad news. But 98% of the time people are not cheating . You died deal with it. (This happens a lot with CS players any connections here? respond with your feelings.)
1: Server rage: Like road rage but worse.
Facist, racist, homophobic server admins/ players
Almost everyone has been in a server where you had one guy either server admin or player just be a total A- hole to everyone. He kicks people for not kissing his tiny little early teen butt, calls people racist name etc and if they respond with something in their defense he kicks them. I usualy just leave the server but really why do people have to be such arrogant f00ls. I can't even begin to count the times people have called me fag or **** after I blast them away. While I'm not **** I do have to ask myself how does playing a computer game determine your sexual preference.
It goes something like this.
Cpl.Davis=USCM= killed otherguy
Cpl.Davis=USCM= killed other guys team mate
otherguy: BS BS you (censored) fag...
other guys team mate: HACKER HACKER bla bla bla you (&*&&*&%##%^)
Cpl.Davis=USCM= well jeeze next time dont rush straight at me when I have a HMG u little skulk, at least try to dodge.

See what I mean. Feel free to substitute your name for mine and misc. players for the other names and let the memories flow
NS is like CS in terms of origionality and fun factor I'm taking aobut the origional cs many many many moons ago. The good cs way back when it first came out and before it got to the corupted state it is in now. (lol just go to www.counter-strike.net and see when it was last updated. If NS ever gets like that I'll have to shoot myself.)

Also the game is like starcraft, and that might be why I like it more. Also it's how I got my reluctant friends into it.
I had one of these persons in a geme once. Said: "Heh, you aliens sure suck, I took out your half team by my own! I pwnZ! Skillz!"
Then me and a teammate started idolizing him, telling how good he was, that we wanted to be just like him.
Every alien joined in. He got tottally swamped with compliments, and he got fed up with it. He even told US to shut up!
Then he got eaten by Atlan. the whole alien team bloated up. "Omg that can't be! Atlan what have you done! We hate you ( <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> )! Kill Atlan (we all started hunting Atlan, just for fun). The skillz dude left. Everyone, even the marines were ROFL.
p.s I think Gooseman spends his time in a dark room sometimes ashamed of unleashing CS onto the world, sometimes weeping for what CS once was but will never be again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I sometimes may do this if the marines rush the hive more then once. Ever. Even if it's not right after another rush, I still do it.
