<div class="IPBDescription">NS is a race</div> Yes, i've noticed that NS is a race to see who can get to the hives first and take them. Yesterday i was a marine in a 1.04d server, we were doing VERY well, in Tanith we had taken Waste Handling hive. Fusion was their main. After we took Waste handling the Comm decided to take a resource in west access corridor (i think that is what it is) and reactor room. Fair enough. After that our entire team met up in the spawn where our force was going to take Sat Comm. We got out of the door, and got attacked by skulks. and offense chambers, we* (i died) retreated back to our spawn point. About that time on came the fades...in droves...all of a sudden we are bombarded by messages such as. "GET TO REACTOR!" "FADES AT WASTE!" and stuff like that. Our main base was under attack as well, the commander desperatly threw out HA and Gren Launchers in the spawn, would be able to pick them up, launch about a clip of grenades and go down in a hail of acid rockets. I went through the phase to waste handling...fades took out all of our turrets, took the phase to Reactor...fades...etc.
Then came the onos.
Sorry i got a bit off track but the point i'm trying to say is NS is pretty much a race between the commander and the gorges to secure the first hive. Because after the second hive unless the commander is really skilled and can set up defenses, take a hive, set resources, and on top of it all get upgrades and be able to distribute HA/HMG's to your team and still have resources left over you arn't going to easily battle those fades if/when they get that hive up. After your team hears that first leap, or see the first umbra...or of course the first of many fades...they just get rallied and hide back in spawn/F4/leave.

Kill the gorge again and again. Camp the hives, don´t lock it down. Meanwhile 1-2 marines can build nodes all over the map and you´re up to lvl 3 upgrades in no time. Doesn´t always work, but it´s a tactic all the same.
