Long Live Weapons!

A little tip.
You and 2 buddys equiped with HMGs and a shotgun run for a hive. You wait for the commander to start building when in comes a few skulks. One of your pals drop but you kill the skulks. Now, the shotgun he dropped will vanish in 30 secons (i think). If you pick it up, the gun you dropped will live another 30 seconds. After 20 seconds switch again and the shotgun will live another 30 seconds, thus keeping it alive until your pal makes it back to the hive. Save some money

There is a Drawback though. When you switch you only get the ammo left in the gun that was dropped. So the shotgun might only have 6 or 7 shells left in it. And when you switch back to your original gun it will only have what you left in it the clip. So have the commander ready to drop you some ammo for you when your pal is back.

This works best if you are playing with a freind, or in a ClanGame.

Isnt it true that weapons dropped near the armry (in a small cricle around it) stay and dont dissapear after 30 secs?

interesting. i'll have to try this, considering comm-dropped weapons do not disappear, or at least last a hell of a lot longer.

That is true, I always drop 1 set of ha hmg & welder when I can afford it. That equip-set has never dissapeared. But I'm not sure what would happen if a marine dies with that equip... maybe then it'll still dissapear

Player dropped weapons last 30 seconds, regardless of where they are dropped. Commander dropped weapons (which have to be in the proximity of an armory) last until they're picked up.

If I'm really low on health, I always chuck my weapon at someone who's fresh on HP whether they want it or not. Most annoying is when they decide to run off by themselves with it and lose it forever.

This should not be useful unless you expect backup shortly after , sice your damage is in no way increased...and the costs dont matter since noone uses the weapon on the ground

I've spent hours picking up weapons untill someone respawned in main base

Usually if me and a fellow grunt head off to do some hunting and one of us dies... the other will turn and head back for the phase gate... on the way just keep dropping the guns in front of you as you walk... it takes a while and you gotta watch your back... but anything to keep an hmg alive is worth it to me.

Yepp... that be true.. friggin Aliens But more than often it works, since you dont have to do it all the time, just switch every 20 seconds or so. But as i said: Works best if you are playing with a buddy who knows you are saving his gun, and will come rushing for it.
