<div class="IPBDescription">Looking for a decent mod</div>I've never really been one of these "sheep" that luuuurve CS. I have played it and enjoyed it but there is too much wrong with the game... cheats for one thing!!! I have always been a tribes and tribes 2 man meself... but I run the largest LAN Parties in Scotland and we have been looking for a decent game mod... other than the usual CS, Q3 stuff. We always try to introduce something new to each LAN and I think everyone has had enuff of CS... I have. I think games like CS are soon to be for the chop. They change too much every release... fine, fix the bugs but ffs stop messing about with the physics. This is why CS has been getting slagged for its latest release, and rightly so.

Anyway, we have a few games servers too and have just dropped one of our CS ones to make way for something better... so keep up the good work guys, the game looks dynamite so far... Can't wait!<!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

Anyway, as for mod suggestions, besides NS (which I'd definitely suggest once it comes out), I'd also recommend <a href="http://www.planethalflife.com/si/" target="_blank">Science and Industry.</a>  It's got a similar RTS feel to NS, since you start with just a pistol, a briefcase and no armor and you have to choose what to research.  Your main objective is to capture scientists to do your research for you.  It's a lot of fun and definitely something to look into if you want a mod that's more fun than realistic.

While you wait for Natural Selection, you can try these mods out: Day of Defeat, BuzzyBots and Firearms. I personally think they're good, but NS will beat them, I hope.

Buzzybots (Highly amusing)
Firearms (the only issue here is bunnyhoping, otherwise kick ###)

Firearms was actually my intro. to HL mods.  I have almost never played TFC and NEVER played any version of CS.  TFC is ok, but graphically it can't compete with DOD v2.0.

I would also recommend Science and Industry. The fact that you have to research and maintain the researchers in their right place (your side) makes the mod rather interesting and unique.

personally i hate CS, in my honest opinion, i believe that it is quite a poor mod and have no idea why it is as popular as it is...the whole "sticky-feet" thing automatically makes it horrible in my opinion, everything else is just gravy.  However, in my opinion, Wasteland Half-life is quite awesome, Team Fortress Classic is classic though some people have issues with it.  Day of Defeat is one of my favorites (sniping is realistic and wobbly, and fun as a two-toned....raspberry....)  what else is fun? hmm....i dunno, figure it out youself...oh, and NS better be the king so that we may all hail to it.

CS is too full of lamers, cheats, and massivly unorganized people.

I like DOD, HLPaintball(just for giggles), and TFC.
