<div class="IPBDescription">No cone fire.</div> All in the topic basically, I've seen afew marines fireing HMGs / LMGs without having a cone of fire, I know it sounds really unlikley but has anyone else experianced this?

Had afew carapice skulks go down instantly to LMG's at extreem (I mean like accross the intire lenght of the top of viaduct hive) range...

Just seems.... odd.

    reasons could vary:
A-laggy server, or server lag, or player lag. In general, lag
B-lotsa upgrades. That'll get you smoked faster than you can say "watch out marines are rushing the....."

Not everyone is unscrupulous enough to cheat.

Lag can be your friend. (Read: "Once squashed a fade with an LMG. The thing never went through the reloading or firing animations but the ammo numbers clicked away REAL quik".)

If you get upstream bandwidth but near zero downstream (At least I imagine thats what causes it) you become 'the unkillable skulk of doom' occasionally my connection messes up as I leap into groups of marines (happens alot) and when I'm fealing lame I can bounce around killing them all without death, cause it eventually catches up with you and you die but still.

You know that some lame*** out there is going to find a way to intentionaly mess up their bandwidth to cause that, if it works.

Hey, I could do that... Cut off the downstream for, say, 5-10 seconds, and-- Nah... No fun...

Depends how you connect to the net, if you have a nice linux box as a router.

Hm perhaps we should stop this discussion.

I feel that lag is a reason why spawn invulnerability should be raised from from 0.5 sec to maybe 1.5 sec. With latency of 150 you can quite often die before you even have realised that you have spawned. Usally happens to me when marines has gotten into your hive. Its hard to defend against people who kill you before you even have time to move.

Okabore, that post is perhaps for another thread.. The trick to not dying the second you spawn, is to already have your movement keys being used when you are on the "REIN" state. The second I go "REIN" and there are marines in the hive, i jump around like a "ferret on smack" and hope and pray that I can get away, heal up and kill the marine before any more-permanent damage occurs.

If Im not very mistaken, seeing other marines shoot ALWAYS makes it look like they're shooting in a perfectly straight line. They aren't however, its just a visibility bug.
Much like hearing another marine shoot is choppy rather than their actually constant fire.

A spawn invulnerability was tried in playtest, but was ultimately removed. The problem with it was that part of the balance between marines and skulks is that while skulks have extremely dangerous teeth, they have to get in range to use them - meanwhile, the marines have the chance to take them out before they get close.

With a spawn invulnerability, skulks could close ranks without taking bullet fire - instant death to the first marine they reached, at least.

As for a no-cone LMG/HMG... it may have been a pistol. They have no spread and can fire as fast as 6 rounds/sec.
