Spoting Your Good Marines From The Bad

Ok guys heres one for ya LOL

Wouldn't it be great if the comm had a feature where he could differentiate the good marines from the bad. Now I know that they are giving the comm the ability to group and select guys differently but..........

I think the comm should have an ability to give out helmets of different colors to separate the morons from the good guys (this will also help to give out weapons and armor to the correct guys later on in the game, instead of some nut picking up the stuff and dying in like 2 secs and its easier than putting your damn pointer over every damn guy looking for who u want.)

But now on a more serious note:

One of the biggest issues as comm is trying to group guys, looking at their names and trying to tell them where to go or what to do while your trying to pronounce their damn names. So I think this is a good idea let me know what u guys think. I think that the TAB which shows u all the players should be incorporated somehow that the comm can select players he wants through the TAB and group them through there. For Example:

Team 1

Joe (you would click the number of guys u wanted here then CTRL and the GROUP#)
Billy
X11 (TAB again and select the next group)
234
Dee
Grrr

And if the TAB thing isn't something that could work then how about a mini map that would list the names of your whole team and then you could do it from there.
I think this would be faster and easier then trying to get everyone to group together to select them and then send them out. I'm not sure if this is something similar to what they are doing but its a thought.

What do u guys think?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    While this post would probably go better in the 'Suggestions and Ideas Forum' (they're labelled for a reason), I do believe 1.1 is going to have additional things like this for commanders. Read the changelog on the front of natural-selection.org, and you'll find a lot of interesting things.

    My suggestion would be that the comm should be able to classify his marines and give them ranks.

    EX.

    Whats that? You listened to your comm and have good aim and actually know the map?

    Well...Here you go. The commander has given you the rank of Field Commander.

    What are you doing? Stop running off and dying. You have the rank of grunt.

    I think that would be great if the comm could assign ranks, it helps everyone. People know whose good and the commander knows whose good and people strive to get a better rank so that people will listen to them.

    I know this should be in the suggestion forum but since this is relevant to the reply ill post it here =D.

    Sometimes I wish the commander could give out dunce caps, so you know who not to trust to cover your back. Or maybe just give out big ol' signs that go around the marines neck that say "I'm stupid!"

    ... Here's your sign <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I wish this thread didn't have to put down learnign newbies from playing NS. Sigh, its enough that peoiple get denied stuff in real life and get bullied, now were taking it to the games. Geesh guys. Giving special ranks is just promoting Rambo's.

    Rambo "I went rambo and killed the hive and 5 skulks all by myself"

    Commander "I know I saw you, your amazing, you deserve a golden helmet, as for the rest of the marines, you guys kinda suck"

    Rambo "ARg! I just got killed by a skulk""can I get Jp, hmg, and welder when I reincarnate"

    Commander "Sure can do"

    Ranks, but i dont think benefits should be in place. Easily exploitable.

    I for one when commanding do not like rambo's and I dont promote them. The point I was trying to make was. If people are listening and following orders, I want those individuals (good or bad) to be recognized. I dont care if they can kill 20 guys or 2 I'm more concerend with people who can actually follow orders, thats what needs to be promoted.

    Any "GOOD" comm isnt impressed with that one guy who thinks hes a hero, this game is based on team work and thats what gets victories.

    So when used properly you would wind up with everyone doing what ever you say and would probably bring a little more "ORDER" to this game.

    So are we on the same page now?? This was not ment to pick on newbs, we dont mind newbs , we dont like rambos or NOOBS, big difference.

    Simple system,

    Marines can have 3 colours of helmet, dark green, blue (standard) or red.

    A red marine is 'bloodied' he is someone the com considers to 'know his stuff' and generally be pretty damn nifty.

    A blue marine is 'standard' he is someone the com thinks of as just a regular joe.

    A green marine is just that, green. He's a newb, he may not understand how to build, he may well run off and die repeatedly attempting to DM the skulks to death.

    GUI system, hold tab press click you now have a mouse pointer, in the area next to your marines where the score should come up there are three radio boxes, red blue green, select the colour that matches the player.

    BlueGhost

    Humerous and totally un-related anicdote:

    me and [FSA]Kickarse are moving out together towards a hive, he goes round a corner of a T junction we came from the 'bottom of the T'. He turns left infront of me. 5 skulks fly pass my face in persute of the juicy kick flesh so I nip round the corner point my gun at the mob of skulks (it was litrally wall to wall cealing to cealing skulk). And hold the fire key down, kick who hit them abit as he came round the corner with lmg jumps gets nocked back pulls his pistol out and gets every single kill with 1 pistol clip..

    I mean c'mon that takes the **** <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
