My trick to fighting HA as a 1 hive skulk is to stay by the hive. In the newer 1.04 patches, the hive can dishout 20 health a beat, staying by the hive, (and d chambers, as they SHOULD be under the hive). It is very difficult when the commander is spamming health and they are welding each other but the only advice i can give is to keep circle strafing, and keep biting while you are by the hive, having a lerk using spikes for support is not a bad idea also, but usually in pub games 1st hive lerks die too easily so most people are hesitant to use them.
Keep evading fire, and wait for a reload, either the HA will
A)Keep reloading, and hope you dont get the 7 bites off that is required to kill one
B)pull out his welder, in which case is better because the welder is a difficult weapon to use.
There was one game when I was playing gorge on Tanith - Waste hive (up on top by the res tower). We barely had two hives, and I was by myself up there when two heavies came up the ramp. I began webbing like crazy, and calling for help. I managed to keep both webbed on the floor for about two minutes (ok, maybe 30 sec, but it seemed like forever) until a sulk was able to come along and finish them off.
An intersting fact about the web - each strand holds a marine for 15? seconds, and it is stackable - so if I am by myself I usually put three or four strands across the ground all on top of each other and always following the grain of the floor (to hide it better), then go about my way building stuff around the corner. As soon as I hear that blessed crunch sound, I run out to healthspray the poor sucker (knowing I have 45 seconds or so of freedom), and it doesn't matter if it is a heavy or not, he is dead - though usually if it is a heavy, I web them more just in case.
also, there seems to be a bug with the webbing - if you get webbed, your feet still move (as if walking) even if you stand still. This enables the gorge to fire webbing right at your feet and you automatically get stuck -- even though you aren't "walking" onto it. Very exploitable. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

They can't hit you if they can't see you. They can't see you if you're moving at 50 miles/hr in a circle around them, each swipe throwing off their view and panicking them more and more as their health plummets.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> I think they mean with two hives...because a lerk or fade could easily knock out ha's.
Well.. anything you do to fight against HA marines is good thing. Strengh is in numbers if you can gather a small group of skulks attacking the same target, he usually dont last very long. Just repeat it until everyone has respawned.
The other way of dealing HA's is to destroy their resource towers, after this if your team is able to exterminate the survived Ha/hmg/gl marines . They cant probably give heavyarmors anymore to everyone..probably 2-3 players only. Lerk with umbra can take ha marines down with some extra backup, this is usually the tactic i use..even without umbra if i have the distance
Steps: 1. Lie down. 2. Curl up into a ball. 3. Wait for the HA/HMG to come around the corner... 4. Feel the HMG bullets penetrate your *ss. 5. Become a puddle of blood with some ribbons of flesh flying through the air.
If the aliens only have one hive, and marines have HA/HMG, gg aliens, unless they REALLY suck or you get the 2nd hive and beat them off with fades.

And when could we destroy lights??? If we could (like in AvP) that would be sweet!!!
