<div class="IPBDescription">Open Letter to my commander</div> Dear Commander,
Hi, it's me Zunni, you know faceless grunt who is pretty much indistinguishable from all other faceless grunts. Just wanted to drop a note to mention that there is probably something you should be aware of...
As part of my job, I build where you tell me to build, I protect what you need protected and kill all aliens that you need killed. I run headlong into situations that I know I'm going to have to respawn because of, and I do this willingly and openly every single time you call. I do this to the best of my ability.
Now my problem, you aren't keeping up your end of the bargain. Your job is to command. You guide us through the big stuff and let us take care of the small. If you don't feel like being the commander then step aside and let someone else through. What specifically I'm referring to is the practice of recycling the IP's, on a whim because you feel all hope is lost. So you prevent my fallen comrades from joining me on the battlefield of honour. Why? Is it because you have lost your will to fight?? It's ok to admit, war does strange things to men and we have all seen some things we would have prefered not to. However, for you to make the decision on behalf of your entire team to commit suicide is arrogant, it's rude and not fair. Some of us are still able-bodied and want to fight, against all hope and perhaps make a stand, even fight back and win. If you are not the man to lead us, then get up and allow another to assume command, go back to the Ready Room and wait, or leave this outpost and find another.
So after your treachery, now the round ends and we begin anew, as fresh-faced marines and you jump back into the comm. chair. You then demand of us to do our job?? Well, I'm sorry sir, but I have to quit on you the same way you quit on us. I'm not going to give that extra bit of effort, when you made no effort at all...
- Zunni
<just a frustrated day where the same comm did this SEVERAL times (over the period of many hours, I did play some aliens and a few times others beat him to the comm chair) just because the aliens had fades.. No other players felt like kicking him and it was just sooo frustrating >

Hi this is Commander KillaBite and Obudsman of the Officer's complaint department. Unfortunately the commander you wished to addressed concerning this issue was killed by 3 Skulks during a failed retreat on Bast. He felt that 3 skulks attacking the base was too much for his marines to handle and thus retreated not checking the side of his CC when he stepped out. We believe his pieces are scattered somewhere outside Atmospheric Processing.
In regards to your complaint, I myself have recycled IPs only in dire circumstances. Such a situation is when the Kharaa have managed to get 3 hives, our resource population is low, and a majority of the marines have gotten space madness because of the situation. Before recycling I always would get a majority vote as to whether our team should retreat or fight it out to the end.
I would think a good Commander would want the opinion of the team first before committing such and act. Not all situations are impossible. Mind you the morale of the team usually dies in the hopeless situations and little hope of making a stand is lost.
I have sent a donation in your name to the Lost Commander's Widows Fund. Once again we thank you for taking up the TSA cause and we wish you best of luck with your future Commanders.
Sincerely,
Commander KillaBite of the 52nd Inf's "S1ckend Sav1ors"
#team-sick on gamesnet....cough...
WTF YOU TALKIGN BOUT ROFL1!!!!!!
Errr I mean.
Whatever do you mean, fair sir. My writing is always top quality, as I find it to be of utmost importance.
Exit stage left...
I had one who was nice enough to yell over the voice channel, "You guys all suck. That's it, I'm recycling everything".
We had jetpacks, we had our base in one of the hives. We had ful research. However, the commander had lost all faith in our ability to take down the aliens.
Poof went the base.
Down went 50 ammo packs, to assure we have absolutely no resources to possibly bounce back.
Suffice to say, that commander was a jerk.
So any comms that want to recycle MY ip , if I was a quitter I'd be in the readyroom now!
Incidentally I also do F4 if the rest of the team has and I'm hiding in a vent. Or at least global chat my location to the aliens. Stubborness is good but too much can be a bad thing.
I tend to be a good marine. I may not be the best shot, but I follow waypoints and do as asked (I have found myself behind enemy lines because the commander couldn't remove a waypoint and I followed it thinking the C needed me there), but when I go 5 times to the same spot to build the same item, only to be killed and have the item removed by the aliens, it is time to save resources and move on.
I don't know why some commanders get obsessed with a spot. Is it because that is the only stratagey they know?
