well, its this or find someone to make another player model and skin it, i figured itd be easier to use someone elses work that was done months ago. You know how these things go normally. unless anyone would be interested in helping me create a star trek player? the current marine could be modified a tad and then we just could reskin it.
Would it not be easier to look for a Trek model or something more appropriate for reskinning than a DoD soldier on maybe a CS model site, and convert that?
i think youve got the wrong idea, i didnt do this skin or mode, like i said the credit goes to xerent, to my knowledge this is the only star trek player model made.
I think it's possible to convert models from that FPS Star Trek game. Elite Force, or something? Where to get the models, I don't know. It's a starting point, though.
Elite Force uses the Q3 engine, and though I've not seen any conversions of Q3 models yet (I'm trying to do one myself, but I'm learning as I go along) I'm sure someone around here would know how it's done.
Edit: D'oh! Kahler (I think) did the Doom guy from Q3.
I don't have RtCW, but I managed to find models from it on custom sites. From there, it was a matter of figuring out how to convert them to MS3D and I had myself models that I could convert to DoD. Except they wouldn't compile. Go figure. I should probably revisit that project, now that I've got a third-party compiler pack for DoD...
DONT MOCK THE MAN, anyone who attempts and does a model even if it isnt good should be congradulated, good work mate keep going and i hopes u turn into a fine modeler <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
