I haven't bought HL. It's my cousins CD but he doesn't miss it. Yet... I still remember the days when I played CS, DoD and now NS. I still play DoD though but NOT CS WHAT SO EVER!

This post doesn't make any sence, right? That's what I thought... *hmmmms*
EDIT: uranium I hope that doesn't work =/. Maybe not too smart to post things like that on any forum.

I was able to play counter-strike, day of defeat, and natural selection. Three of the best games I've ever played
I got the HL GOTY edition shortly after finally purchasing a computer which would actually PLAY games made after 1995 ... played through the SP, got hooked on TFC and played that forever.. tried CS, hated it ... played more TFC... tried DoD right when 2.0 came out.. played that a while... tried every mod in existence... got hooked on Desert Crisis for a while... tried NS... I don't really play any HL mods regularly anymore.
I bought the Half-Life Generation pack about one and a half years ago for £20. Worth every penny.
I didn't at the time know anything much about the Half-Life mod community (though I was aware of it's existence). It was only about a year ago that I started playing online (when I got broadband).
Knowing how good it is, though: I would have bought Half-Life just for NS.

HL is one of the finer shooters out there in it's execution of a semi-story, compared to much more dumbed down games story wise such as UT2K3. I've completed teh game 2 times now and enjoyed every replay very much. It's surprisingly long too, and very atmospheric. It doesnt look pretty by today's standards if that is what you hint at... but the core gameplay values of that game is up there with the best that I've tried for the pc platform ever.
