Counter-strike Retail

Ok, i tried to install NS on my friends computer and he has the retail version of cs, well i got 1.0.0.5 and then i tired to install ns and it said it had to be halflife update 1.whatever or cs 1.3, do i need to get another one or what? Thanks for the help.

Its right above you. its called trouble installing CS retail.
